Evan Canan is a producer, engineer, and sonic innovator living in New York City. He is rooted in folk, folk rock, Americana, indie, and alt-country music, but with a skewed, avant-garde sensibility and a deep reverence for the classics. A child of the Cascade Mountains, he favors acoustic instrumentation and analog synthesis without a bigoted commitment to the old way of doing things. He loves negative space and finding the balance between grit and polish, capturing the sonic imprint of the moment and room a song lives within. Equal parts visionary, romantic, and technician, he avoids cliche, less interested in conforming to genre tropes than in the creation of something new.
